Oh Jeeez, it's been a while eh? I have been busy with work, kids and everything else. It doesn't leave me a lot of time to do cards, but with Christmas coming up, there were no excuses.

Something Different
Hi there
Do you ever get bored? Bored of creating the same ol' thing? Realizing that whenever you made a card it seems to look the same as the last one just different colours? Yeah, me too.
I tried to do something different for a friend of mine that was changing jobs. Funny story, this card was the first card, then it wasn't working out for me so I decided to start on another card, and that card wasn't working either, so I went back to the first card and this is what I came up with. It's a little busy, but certainly different than some of the stuff I have done before, so mission accomplished I guess.
TFL!
Have a great day!

All of a sudden, I received this mad order for cards, when it rains it pours. I was busy with cards, then the new school year. My daughter started JK a couple days ago and it was an adjustment for all of us. I thought for sure that myself and my daughter was going to cry when she went to school, surprisingly, it was neither of us...it was terribly hard for my son. He had no idea where she was going and he got really upset when he couldn't see her and didn't know where she was going. It was really cute and upsetting at the sametime. At the end of the day, she had a great time at school, lets hope those feelings continue.
Here is a card I completed for a friend of mine, tfl and have a wonderful day!

Busy Week..TGIF!!
Hi there!!
First week back at work from a week off is hard. But the week seemed to go by pretty quickly. I was busy though, errands to do a cards to make. Here is a card I made for a friend, she has a close friend that is having a baby girl and the first name begins with an 'M', so she asked me to make a card that incorporated the 'M' in it, this is what I came up with.

Back 2 School Card
Hi there
As part of the Canadian Paper Trail, Aug 25 was my day to create something for either back to school or end of summer. I decided to do a back to school card (my first one ever!) in honor of my daughter starting junior kindergarten this fall.
Thanks for looking and head on over to www.thecanadianpapertrail.blogspot.com for more great projects!

My first Shabby Chic Card
Hey there!
A week ago and friend asked me to make her a vintage/shabby chic card for a grandma that is turning 100yrs old. I have never made a shabby card so this was a challenge for me. You definitely have to start with the paper for a vintage card, anything flowery seems to be the popular choice. I don't mind the way it turned out, next time I think I will sew on the card and possibly add buttons and stuff.

A New Card
I haven't had a lot of time lately to do some cards, but I just got a couple orders for 2 cards, one for a baby and another for a 100th birthday (I know, that is going to be a challenge, I have never done a vintage or shabby chic card, but I'm thinking I am going to have to start!)
Here is the baby card that I completed this afternoon, I hope you like it.

Birthday Crazy!
I'm going birthday crazy, not only is my daughter's 4th birthday coming up soon, but my mother in law and my dad's birthday are both in the same week. Can I tell you, that masuline cards are the hardest cards for me to do. I get stuck everytime, and I just end up doing a very simple card, which is still good, but a little unlike me.
Anyway, with my mother in law's card I wanted to do something quick but summer'ish and cute and I was looking through Lawn Fawn's blog and came across the cutest card/invite that Kelly Marie Alvarez made and I had to lift it, here is the link, http://lawnfawn.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-07-12T09%3A57%3A00-07%3A00&max-results=5. If you have never been to Kelly Marie's blog, then you are living under a rock, she is fabulous and a great designer. Here is my card.
This is the simple, clean card I did for my dad, who's birthday is today! Happy birthday Dad..love you!

Birthday Card done!
I'm ahead of the game! Thank goodness I am on vacation this week, I'm managing to get a lot of stuff done, especially for Kayla's 4th birthday at the end of the month. One problem, my mother in law and my Dad's birthday are both this week, and I haven't started their cards yet, and, I have no idea on what I am going to do for their cards either. I'll admit, I'm not very good a masculine cards, I always draw a blank, so anyone has any ideas for me..please pass them along!
Here's the card I made for Kayla, tfl and have a wonderful day!

Invites done!!
Well, I finished the invites. I wanted them to be as simple as possible since I was going to be making at least 10 of them. So, I literally just stamped and coloured in. My daughter wants everything to be pretty much pink, so I thought I would add a little accent colour to her pink theme which is green. Her party is going to be a summer garden party, it will be in our backyard and I will have flowers and ladybugs etc. Orgainizing a little girls party is very hectic! When I ask her what she wants for her birthday she says, "Ummm presents...pink presents..and..ummm a pink cake!" Thank goodness I am on vacation this week, so I can order a pink cake, get decorations and get her a pink present.

Stuck on invites:(
Hi there
My daughter's 4th birthday is coming up and I wanted to do up some cute but simple (because I have to make 10-15 of them) invitations. For some reason, I am having a hard time with it. I dont' know if it is because I want to keep them simple and I can't help but embellish more, or if it is because I am having a hard time with the colours (pink, and lime green). I don't know, I will post them if I do get them done, even if I give up, I will post what I ended up doing.
Until then, here is a new card, TFL!

It's a heat wave
Well, we have a major heat wave here in Toronto and in the burbs of Toronto. Fortunately, my scrap area is in the coolest part of the house, the basement! Even with central A/C it can still get quite warm in areas of the house. I managed to get a card done with some inspiration from Julia Stainton in the latest Paper Crafts magazine. I just love that magazine for inspiration!
One of the best things about this card is that I got to use stickers that I have had for a very long time, and I mean a very looong time. These must be retired by now, but at least I used them, right?
Anyways, thanks again for looking.

A Sunday blog
Hey there!
I just came back from taking my daughter to see Toy Story 3 and if you haven't seen it with your kids (or if you don't have kids) go see it! Sooo cute and a little sad.
I going to have to get moving on some cards because the girls at work have been asking me to bring some in and I to give them a good variety of cards, not just birthday, wedding and baby, so I am going to have to come up with some different themes, so stay tuned for those. In the meantime, here is a cute one that could be used for a girl's birthday, possibly a new baby girl? I don't know, but I thought it was cute when it was done. TFL!

A relaxing Sunday post
Hey there
Nothing much going on today, kind of a lazy day, I'm feeling somewhat lazy myself. No promises on making cards today, although I want to, we'll see if I can get my butt into the craft room.
I went out with my Dad last night to visit his side of the family for a birthday party, it was about a 2hr drive and I didn't get home until 1am then I was up with the kids early this morning, needless to say, I am tired. On a good note, my husband looked after the kids while I went out and everything went okay, no headaches, no problems...thank goodness!
Here is a card I completed last weekend, enjoy!

I'm having a blogger issue
I am very sorry that some of my photos are different sizes post to post, I am having an issue with blogger lately, sometimes I get the x-large size that I want, other times I don't. In the future, I am just going to use the large option, it seems to work everytime.
Thanks

Summer
Yesterday was the first day of summer and it was a gorgeous day, but today...not so much. Raining, literally, all day, thank goodness I am not on vacation this week or else I would have been pretty upset. I was finally able to take a couple photos of my cards yesterday. I like taking photos of my cards in natural sunlight, personally, I think they look better and not shadowy. Here are a couple, enjoy and tfl!

Monday Blues
I have the Monday blues, it was very hard to get out of bed this morning. I had a pretty exhausting weekend, and I felt as if I needed one more day. Just one more day to rest. Oh well, 4 more days and it's the weekend!
I received a request 2 weeks ago to make a wedding card, she told me that the bride was very stylish and classy and loved pink...this is what I came up with, TFL!

No, I didn't forget that I had a blog
Life has been chaotic to say the least. Too busy for cards, if you can imagine that! It has been from babysitting 2 more kids for a couple friends, to taking my daughter to the Emerg for a separated shoulder. I am still fighting a brutal cold, with a cough that won't seem to go away, and today I did a 10K. Everything was going fine until I got a cough attack that slowed me down. I am not impressed with my time this year, looks like I am going to have to enter another 10K to make up for it.
So here is an older card that I never posted, not sure why I didn't post it, probably because I liked other cards at the time. TFL!

"It's a sunny day Mommy!"
Those words when my daughter woke up this morning, her and Chase ate breakfast quickly and darted outside! I'm doing a quick blog on this holiday Monday and then I am "darting" outside too. I took my husband to Casino Niagara yesterday for an all expenses paid birthday present. We hit major traffic on the way down and he wanted to turn around and go home, I told him no way! He proceeded to complain a bit more and I ignored him..lol. We finally got to the casino and we played a coulple slots and then it happened, he last credits on one of the machines and he hit the progressive jackpot! very exciting!! What a day.

Where the heck did that week go?
So, it's been a week since I last blogged, and it's been a busy one. First of all, with all the season finale's happening, I have no "spare time" (how about that Grey's Anatomy finale???!! Amazing!) and today, is my hubby's birthday. I have been racking my brain on what to get him, I really wanted to do something different, but I just didn't know what, finally I just settled with treating him to the casino, all expenses paid. He'll have a great time.
Okay here is a card that I did for my hubby's b-day, it is a card-lift and I am really sorry but I don't know the name of the person who did it. But am pretty sure I saw her card on Scrapbook.com and it just sort of stuck in my head, so thank you very much for the inspiration!

Ahhhh Saturday...I love you!
How much do I love Saturday's? The chance to sleep in (a bit), to spend time with my hubby and kids, to do errands that have been put on the backburner all week, to SPEND MONEY (one of my fav things to do), ahh yes, I do love my Saturday's. I'm also still getting over the season finale of Vampire Diaries last night, ohh baby, what an episode! It's going to be a long summer waiting for that show to start up again.
I'm going to try to get some cards done this weekend, a couple of my co-workers would like to pick and choose from what I have. So we will see what I can come up with. I bought some Copic markers today, never used them before, I;m nervous...you'll see what I come up with soon:)

Loving the Sunshine
Can't believe I have the time to do another post today, loving the sunshine today, here is an appropriate card for a day like today! TFL!
Kindergarten Blues
It's not my daughter that has the kidergarten blues, it's me. This morning, I took time off work to take my 3yr old to visit her kindergarten classroom (she starts in Sept). I was so nervous this morning. She blended in nicely, she had fun with the other kids, she did some colouring and crafts, but was very shy. I am going to have a hard time when the big day arrives in Sept and I have to walk her into that classroom and leave her there...oh my heart! There will be tears that day. I can't believe how things have changed since I was in elementary school, the learning is completely different, but different for the better. The kids have to know more before going to kindergarten, they have to know how to count to 10, sing their abc's and print them, print their name, call 911 etc. I'm pretty sure that when I went to kindergarten, there was a lot of singing and clapping and playtime, now they get homework! HOMEWORK...in kindergarten! Good to know my kids will be smarter than me:)
Anyways, here are a couple simple cards. I have a hard time with simple cards, I always want to do more, I have to remember that "less is more" but I always want to add a ribbon or buttons somewhere, so, yeah, simple cards are hard for me..lol.

Gala
Hey there
For the past week and a half and I have searching for a dress, pulling my hair out trying to find the perfect one and the perfect fit. I couldn't find anything! The reason why I needed a dress was because I was going to a gala, the LG innovators gala. This is a black tie event and I ended up having to wear a dress that was in my closet and I was not impressed. The party was good, I went with my sister in law, I felt a little out of place, most of the people there worked with each other and were schmoozing, we, on the other hand, were just there, participating. But, it gave us a chance to people watch and comment on other peoples outfits and shoes. I think if we were to go again next year, I would search longer for a new and fabulous dress, spend more time on my hair and make-up and show up later for the party.
Now back to the cards, I managed to do a couple cards last weekend (in between shopping for a dress), and to be honest with you, I am running out of ideas. I have been online a lot looking at sketches and buying Paper Crafts magazine for inspiration. Problem is, I can't find anything that I really like. So, the search continues.

Everyone knows what today is...
It's GLEE!!!! Love Tuesday nights when Glee is on, if you haven't watched this chow, give it a chance, so cute, so funny and some real talent.
Hockey playoffs and Lost are also on, but I also have to manage to get out for a run tonight too, missed doing that yesterday because I was so tired. I am doing 7K in about 31min, I'm on track for beating my 10K time last June by 20min. There are other factors though, when I did the 10K last June it was 6mths after I gave birth and I still had some baby weight on, now that most of the baby weight is off, I am a bit quicker and I have more endurance. I hoping to do a half marathon either in the summer or in the fall or both.
Here is are couple pics (one of which I submitted to a challenge at 2peas of shoes)of my other hobby...running.
Now, lets get to the card talk. So, I stopped making cards for about a week, I find that when I make too many all at once that I feel really rushed and I don't like the end result. I also find that if someone asks me to do a card for them that is really specific, that I can't come up with something really creative, I am much better crafting when I just have time, when I feel like crafting, not when I HAVE to craft, you know what I mean?
Anyway, here is a bright card for you! TFL!

It's Monday...and it was a rough weekend:(
I didn't have a good weekend, kids are sick and waking up in the middle of the night. You don't realize how exhausting it is waking up numerous times in the night. In any case, I managed to do up a couple cards while the kids were taking their naps. I'm still trying to get my title centred on this new template, and I will admit, I am not computer savy, I try to be computer savy, but I always end up asking my husband what to do. He's been really busy lately too and hasn't had a chance to look at my blog. So, if anyone knows how to fix my title, please inform me with lots of detailed instructions...thanks!

A Friday Vacation Day
Hey there, I took a vacation day today to spend some time with my kids and decided to do a quick blog while my little guy naps and my little girl watched Alice in Wonderland. Easter weekend flew by for me, one of my best friends came for a visit from Vancouver so we added another little dinner party for her. So lets just say, that last weekend I have never eaten so much in my life! I did a lot of running to balance everything out. The weather was gorgeous and huge motivation for running outside. Today, on the other hand, is chilly, not sure if I can run outside, might have to resort to the treadmill. Hopefully, I will get to do a couple cards on Sunday. I have gotten a request for generic cards, you know, cards that could be birthday, thank you, miss you, whatever. So that will be a bit of a challenge for me.
Here are a couple cards that I did over the Easter weekend, TFL!
This is a birthday card for a friend
Here are a couple hand drawn cards...yes, I said it "hand drawn"
