Olympic Fever!

I am still watching the Olympics everyday and whatever I miss, I catch on the internet the next day. I am very proud of the Canadian Women's Hockey team, what a game!! As you may or may not know, I am a huge hockey fan, so Olympic hockey is some of the best hockey I get to see. I heard this morning that there were some complaints on the way the women celebrated after the game. Apparently, after the fans had left the women continued to celebrate on the ice drinking beer and smoking cigars, honestly, is this really that big of a deal? They weren't hurting anyone but themselves and I certainly didn't take it as a slap in the face of the American women (who also had a great run in the Olympics), it was just a celebration, and it just so happens that it was on the ice and not in their dressing room. And not for nothing, but, this may be the last time the Women's Hockey is in the Olympics, so why not go out with some memories...right?
My men are on tonight to play Slovakia, go Canada go! And congrats to Joannie Rochette for her courageous bronze medal.
I had a vacation day today, so I was able to do up a card while my little guy had a nap.

A Saturday Post

I am completely compelled by the Olympics right now. I really enjoy watching sports, so when the Olympics comes around...I am glued! I haven't really had time to do any LO's or cards, but, then again, the day isn't over yet.
I don't think I have posted these cards before, enjoy and TFL!

Opening Ceremonies

I stayed up until just after midnight last night watching the opening ceremonies in Van. I thought they did a great job, my fav part, the whale hologram that the beginning..gorgeous! For weeks there were rumours on who was going to carry in and light the flame. First rumour, Wayne Gretzky, and in Canada's eyes, who is more appropriate than him?? He's perfect, one of the greatest athletes of all time, but a predictable choice. The other rumour, Terry Fox's mom carrying in the torch and a hologram of Terry Fox running beside her. I was kind of hoping that it was going to be Terry Fox's mom and the hologram, it's different, and totally unexpected. It didn't happen, although, Terry Fox's mom did help carry out the Olympic flag, so it was good that she was a part of the ceremonies. Surprisingly, Celine Dion did not sing, rumour was, she was supposed too. Maybe in the closing ceremonies she'll sing. Now, I am not a fan of KD Lang's music, but WOW! her performance was flawless and beautiful. Great job!
My last Valentine's card before valentine's day on Sunday. TFL!

Okay, I did it, I submitted a card to a magazine. It's kind of exciting at the time, but then reality sets in and you realize that thousands of people are submitting too. It's just for fun.
In any case, here is the card I submitted, it's a home sweet home card.

My day so far

Last night (Friday) we went to my husband's Uncle's surprise 60th birthday party. We didn't get home until just after 10pm, which, of course, is waaaay past the kids bedtime. But we figured, "Awesome, they will sleep in for Sat morning" We were hoping for at least 8:30am. Well...this didn't happen. My daughter is a great sleeper (just like her mother..lol) and she has been since she was a baby. My son, on the other hand, not so much. A colic baby and sensitive to noise and can get over tired and this is when he doesn't sleep well, and this happens to many of us, but man, he doesn't sleep!! He woke up at 1:45am in the morning and didn't go back to bed until 4am! Yes, that's my boy!! Needless to say, I'm a little tired today. But I don't have much to do. I have decided to do a couple cards and submit them to be published. This is frightening to me. I feel like I am going to be judged, when really this is just for fun. They are going to be a wedding card and a home sweet home card, and possibly a spring card. I've been looking around the PaperCrafts site and the scrapbookandcards.com site so if anyone else is looking to submit, take a look at these sites, and pass along any other sites that I have missed. Again, I'm kinda new to this stuff and don't know where to go.
Thanks
Here are a couple cards...TFL!

Over the hump

It's Wed evening and we are over the hump, only 2 more days of work and then I can try and catch up on some sleep. My daughter has been very ill for the past few days, some kind of flu virus, poor thing, she's so sick. So I have been losing some sleep. But managed to do another digi LO. Thanks for looking!

Taking a break

I decided to take a small break from card making to do a couple digital LO's. Do you ever have those moments where you are ready to make a card or LO, you have all your papers and embellishments around you, but you just can't seem to put it together beautifully? I've been having those moments a lot, so, BREAK TIME!! Thanks for looking at these digital layouts.
